Running certainly brings an upbeat feeling with it. I would imagine most runners feel less depressed when running regularly as opposed to not running.
No. It suppresses it. If it cured it then it wouldn't come back.
No. It can, for some people, be beneficial.
If it were cured, then it would never come back, right?
I think it helps to stave off the doldrums for some who may have less of an organic basis to their mood dips.
