Has anybody had any success with this? I am only 21, but after several years of hobby jogging I have taken my HS Freshamn PR (the only year I sprinted in HS) of 12.1 FAT to 15+.

I"m a 46 year old 400 runner, and the thing that helped me to get back into sprinting form this winter was 6 second hill sprints.
After hill sprints for a few weeks, start with 20 meter sprints and progress up to 50 meters.
I have tried this approach for a few months, and my speed hasn't seemed to improve very much, though my vertical has (from 18" to 25" which I attribute primarily to also picking up squatting and Olympic lifts 3 times a week).
What is really crazy, is that my acceleration is better than my max speed, in relative terms at least. I have video timed some 40 yard dashes, and with an interval timer count when The beep goes off rather than when I start, and then when I cross the finish line, so reaction is a factor like in a real race. I have done these in the 5.4-5.8 range, while my 100s can't get any better than ~14.9.
I think part of it is a mechanical issue with turnover, because I run about the same speed on mild up hills, downhills, and flat sprints. I just don't feel like I can get the wheels to turn.
