personal info: 134lbs, 5ft.7", 35y
background, I ran long distance just for fun, I mean no periodizing training, during many years with half-marathon: 1h19'20", 10k: 36'18", 5000m: 17'38". When I saw that I couldn't break any single minute from the half marathon I realize that my technique, flexibility were (and still are) awful, then I've started to train properly (periodization) and my couch recomend me to run lower distance in order to improve the technique, then we planned a gradual schedule from mid distance to short, 24 weeks mid-distance training focused in mile (1609m: 5'06"), 24 weeks 800m: 2'22", and the last focus in 400m: 59,7". At the end of every plan I improve my personal records :).
I saw amazing runners around the forum, so I'd like to ask about my weaknesses and how to improve it, I'm pretty strong (6 reps dips with 44lbs, 1.5 of my body weight in bench press) but unfortunatelly I don't know how to apply that force to the track, probably many years of long-distance without drills or proper planning make me a slow runner, do you think there is any chance at my age to change that? I spend many hours sitting in front of computer, and I could spend 1-1.5 hrs per day to training.
Thanks in advance, and my sencere admiration to the runners of the forum!
