any non workout run 7:30/8:00
If a friend wants to run 15 miles at 6:45 then I'll do that too but normally just 7:30-8:00 pace.

I had to go digging in my logs from long ago: 5K 15:42, easy pace, usually on a 18 to 20 miler, was 8:15 to 8:30.
I don't run 5k but my 10k road PR is 27:35 and my easy run pace is 4:58/km.GM

No, they are doing it wrong.
If you are a 16:xx 5K guy and doing easy runs at sub 7 minute pace than you are hindering your key workouts. Plus, 6:55 pace on an easy day is not going to do much for you that 8:00 to 8:15 pace wouldn't also do and depending on who you read, the slower pace on easy days may actually be more benefiticial in and of itself. But, yeah, slow down on the easy days so you can really hit the hard days HARD.
No he is wrong
and running way to friggin slow on his easy days
I honestly dont know how all of you sub 15 guys run your easy runs so slow. I honestly dont know anyone personally that runs that slow on easy runs...
anyways
14:32 here
easy run pace is usually around 6:15-6:30 Ive been down as far as about 6:00 but really no higher than 6:45.
