Only on letsrun would you see bashing of one of the top small colleges in the US. Ignorance is bliss here.
Indeed. Every day on LR we see confirmation of the Dunning-Kruger effect.
If you are interested in business, you should look into Babson College. A top business school that's in the Boston area.

But actually though. Mcdonough is affectionately known as D3's biggest assh0le. But NYU is a cool school though, so it has that.
Agree with Flagpole on this one. I ran D1 because it was the best school i got in to. I also appreciated knowing i where i was in relation to the top guys.
That said, there is no doubt in my mind 20 years later that D2 or 3 would have allowed me to race more often and eventually faster. Hard to peak when your XC season ends in Oct and track in April.
Unless you are the top of the top... Pick a good education, then run there. No one cares if you end up running 14:30 or 15:30.
I agree that there is nothing wrong with running any division, and that since this guy is not going to go anywhere in running he should be looking for the best education possible. However his post had nothing to do with getting a good education and everything to do with looking like a strong runner by facing softer competition. Notice his motivation for choosing to go D3 was to be all American.
I suppose being in marketing, an accountant, or medical doctor do not count.
