Awesome job for Manzano. And Centro just behind with a new pr a shade over 3:31. These steps took years for these guys and Kwemoi just pops up in his first year with a 3:28.81!

Kiplagat officially faster than Kiprop?
Didn't see that one coming.
And OP - 7 men total broke 3:30, brojos should fix title.
And that 18 year old just ran sub 3:29
And Nick Willis broke joined the sub 3:30 club
Ryun. 333.1 on cinder while frontrunning. Silver medal. Multiple world records. Burned out and done by 21, never saw his full potential.
Great times for Manzano and Centrowitz. Also Willis ran very well. As good as they were the leaders in that race were incredible. Figure a 3:27 means you are averaging 55 point per lap. That's world class racing.

you can fault the pace makers for that. They took it out in 54 with Kiprop right on their heels. He paid for it later on.
but agree with OP - great race with some blazing times.
Congrats to Leo and Matt for putting their mark on history and to John Hayes too for coaching the #5 and #11 guys on this list.

54 is right on considering he was shooting for a world record. Current world record is pace is 54.9 per lap
On cinders, Ryun ran 2:50 his last 1320 (1207m) in his 3:51.1 mile world record, and of course led every step of the race--there were no rabbits in the race, as the announcer says. And no one was close enough to provide any chasing effect.
Today, lead was 2:47.7 through 1200m.
Looks like 7 broke 3:30. Fantastic race.

Ryuns equivalent 3:46 mile
- 4 seconds for cinders + spikes and equipment
- 1 second for dumb pacing
-0.1 for no rabbit draft effect. The pacing is already accounted for.
Still wouldn't have won this race.
Give it a rest about Ryun already. Let's have a 5 year moratorium on all mentions of the guy's hypothetical potential.
Hoka beats NOPe
Was Leo wearing his Hoka spikes? He was still wearing blacked out Nike spikes in Sacramento.

With ventolin I could accept 5 days. Hell, 5 MINUTES would be a start.

ummm, what????
Rabbits are worth 1s/lap
http://www.runningwritings.com/2012/07/brief-thoughts-front-running-is-one.htmlAlso, running 59-60 seconds for 1320y then dropping a 53.point last lap is worth a hell of a lot more than 1 second if paced better.
