I'm entered in a local color run that's in about a week. I was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers regarding my training, diet, supplementation, and gear leading up the event.
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Goal: Sub 13
Training: tempo runs 3x weekly
repeat 10x400m @ 42 seconds with 5 minute rest
aqua jogging 2x weekly @ my local Senior Center (Dianna is such a great instructor!)
10 mile run with my girlfriend @ 10 min pace (unnecessary I know but she wants me to spend more time with her)
Weightlifting: rows, deadlifts, bicep curls (with lower back involved), quarter squats, monkey bars
Plyometrics/Cardio: Trampoline strides 2x weekly
Supplements (all legal):
- I Snort 2 footlong lines of corn starch before every run (will help with getting accustomed to race day conditions)
- ExtenZe (helps me get through my 400m workout)
- Creatine (To stave off the skinny distance runner look)
- caffeine pills (will pop one every 100m)
Gear
- fanny pack
- Windows Phone with accompanying armband (will pump Justin Beiber and Austin Mahone all throughout the race)
- Head phones with Beats Audio
- Camelbak 100 oz. Hydration Pack
