i swear her problem is that she is kicking herself, literally. her left foot comes forward and hits her right calf, then she loses her balance and dives. there MAY have been contact from behind, brushing mcgee's right knee, but it was the swing forward where she hits her own calf that made her trip.
the EXACT same thing happened in london. her left foot brushes aregawi's right knee possibly and when she swings that leg back forward her left foot hits her right calf and she trips herself.
people hit their foot on their opposite calf all the time. you see the telltale mud marks in xc. but it's usually the less talented athletes.
uceny is physically off balance (yet still an incredible specimen, obviously). she has her head constantly cocked to the right side. if you looked at her from above, and considered straight ahead 12:00 and straight back 6:00, it's as if her head is pointed towards 12:30. you can see she leads with her left eye ahead of her right, almost with a protective/defensive look on her face.
her left lower leg has the tendency to want to swing towards 12:30 because her skull is positioned in that orientation, as if that is straight ahead, and that is why she keep kicking herself when she is barely bumped, but ONLY with the left foot hitting the right calf. her right foot will want to swing slightly off to the right as well, but that means it will be well clear of her left calf.
she needs to get her head on straight, literally! it's not psychological, it's structural. and it's not bad luck, getting bumped is part of racing. crazy though it may sound, i think she'd be well served training with a patch over her left eye for a few sessions at least, which would naturally make her right eye "lead" and cause her to orient her head towards 12:00.
Ok, if there was a DQ in the men's 800, the has to be one in the women's 1500 - Bye Bye Mary Cain?

I think it is Cain not McGee. I think Cain\\\'s right knee got Ucency\\\'s lefy lateral shin or foot. That said, I think this is incidental contact. No DQ for Cain.
However, if Cain says that she didn\\\'t have any contact with Ucency, she was too focused on the running to notice. -

Like I posted earlier, I reviewed the footage frame by frame. I saw three touches of Uceny's back kick to McGee's leg. after the first touch it was McGee's responsibility to back off or go around. Same with the second. The third time Uceny went down. Apparently the officials saw the same thing and DQ'd McGee.
Didn't appear to be anything prior to whatever contact caused Uceny to fall. When was McGee DQd? -
Cain didn't even flinch in the video which shows them running directly at the camera, she wasn't involved.
MU needs to figure out her problem and stop flopping on the track. This is a pattern. -
Uceny falls in big races.

Who cares where their shin, knee or leg was since they had no chance to do anything of significance in this race.
Does LR plan a feature on Mary Cain as the most accomplished women HS runner to date? I think we should require Rojo to write it, but please have his less than minimum wage interns edit it as best they can, which typically results in giggles despite the effort.
Morgan had no chance to do anything of significance in this race ? She was side by side with Cain when she went down. Doubtful she would have won against Simpson, but top 3 was in the cards. -
On a tangent, if Uceny ever wins a big championship again I think a movie is in order because Hilary Swank is pretty much the perfect actress to portray her. Pretty sure they are related.
-
Except Hillary Swank dies at the end of Million Dollar Babies ... oh, wait.
-
She's becoming quite the joke now. Morgan needs to go back to training and figure out how to run in a crowd. This is unacceptable and hardly a THIRD coincidence. She's her own worst enemy

inverted pendulum, would this explain why she falls to the outside of the track? She sort of rolls into the outside lane. Otherwise she would almost certainly get trampled. Many falls and lucky to never be seriously injured.

In both 2011 and the olympics, the fall was also to the outside of the track. On straight-aways. So it could be self tripping (unintentional) left foot into right calf as described by pendulum.
Ironic that Simpson also won the race in 2011 when she fell the first time.
This is good news because it can be fixed and overcome. It's not just bad luck. -
let's not get our panties up in a bunch. Uceny was never going to win this race or beat Cain. She couldn't even hold off Viola lagat in a shit dick hoka one one race in a middle of no where high school. Plus getting tripped for the 3rd time in a championship race is more than a coincidence. sigh...

Cross is also different from track.
I know that this sounds very strange, but one of my teammates once noticed hair-free portions on his inside calves. We checked around and almost everyone on the team had them. We figured that we were all kicking our calves so much that we were rubbing them bald.
The initial discovery was during cross. For what it is worth, we checked again during track season and most of the bald portions were gone. -
Is she kidding me, she hardly lead at all. Jenny lead most of the way from the gun. Truly, get real!

I almost hesitate to say it, but I don't disagree. She was big news on the TV and has anyone counted how many threads she generated here? How many did Jenny's win generate?
Folks, please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks it's obvious that this can only be rojo posting under a different name.
Yes. Yes you are the only one. To call you an idiot would be a disgrace to the title. -

This is the biggest crock of BS I have read in days. -
It looked like #4, McGee, ran up on her. She was very close to Uceny from behind, not giving any room. Uceny does not have a real high back kick so it's on the trail runner.
-
No one's fault but Uceny's. At this point, all I can hope is for her to be a better sport when she does fall.

McGee didn't moved forward on Uceny at all. If anything Uceny moved slightly to her left putting her closer to McGee. -

Only rojo equates how much attention an athlete gets, or wants, with that person's Letsrun.com forum. It's classic projection: This place is rojo's entire life, so he wrongly projects his own outlook on other people's.
The "writing" style is also a dead giveaway.
It really all fits. The real reason the Johnsons won't upgrade to required forum registration is because they treasure their own ad hoc trolling too much. And how frigging sad is that?
They, as admins of the site, could easily still have multiple accounts...which kinda kills your theory.
