This is why it's bad that USATF's report on the indoor DQ still hasn't come out. No one knows what the protocol should be.
Fair or not, many are going to assume that Cain was the one to take Uceny out and if she's not DQd, people are going to go irate.
PS. USATF only has 1 day to issue their report on what happened indoors.
There's no way Cain takes the blame for that. Not even close. Looked like Cory McGee made contact with Uceny on her back-kick.

I can't tell exactly what happens. Either Morgan trips herself, Cain trips her from the side, or McGee from behind. Those are the options.
I'm not one for conspiracies theories between sponsors and such but I really don't think there's a chance of USATF DQ'ing Nike Sponsored Mary Cain. It's really unlikely.
And if it's so hard to tell what exactly happened, I doubt anyone will really get DQ'd.
It's not like the Nick Hartle incident where he clearly grabbed two people and vaulted himself forward in that 800 semi

Cain says there was no contact between her and Uceny, that she was surprised she went down and she simply moved back to inside after she went down and said she felt bad for Morgan.

I think it is quite obvious that Cain was not responsible for the Uceny fall. Unbelievable how some people's perspective is warped by their personal agenda.
What are the best places achieved in history by a high school age runner in the women's 1500 at the USA outdoor track championships? I assume that this must be up there as one of the best. Perhaps someone without an agenda can put this in perspective?
McGee trips her, then she she falls over her own feet and falls with the help of an elbow from Cain.
If a distance runner falls down 3 times in big time races it's probably due to improper technique. She has to fix her back kick, period. We can't blame other runners every time she falls down

One of the best? She finished 2nd in USA as a high schooler! I'm pretty sure that's the best ever.
Why is Cain even in this discussion? If you saw the race you would know that she was not involved. Pathetic journalism at its worst.
So what you are saying is that whoever was BEHIND Uceny was involved with the fall, and since Cain was BESIDE Uceny, it could not have been Cain.

This thread is about Uceny biting the track, NOT about how great Cain is, isn't, will be, etc. Feel free to start a new Mary fan club thread if you wade through a dozen and don't find one you can endorse. I'm not saying she sucks, but I am saying that whether or not she is the world's greatest athlete is irrelevant to whether or not she fouled Uceny and should be DQ'd.
there was this girl at my HS who although pretty fast seemed to have quite a knack for falling or "getting tripped" during races
We just spoke via phone with Jorge Torres, former NCAA champ, who now works for Mark Wetmore and is one of Uceny's agents.
He said that Uceny told them she was hit three times from behind before she went down.
The agents want to look at the video as they dont know what happened themselves.
They said they likely will simply move forward as what will a DQ accomplish but are going to first see what the video replay shows and talk to Uceny about it when she gets back from her cool-down.

PS. We believe a little known fact of the rule book is a re-race is possible but never has happened.
you can only fall so many times and blame others. Every now and then someone goes down. It happens. When it happens to you in at least 3 championship races, you lose my sympathy. I'm sure she's got some horrible mental demons from fall one that could have led to fall two... but... enough. Learn to address the issue, or pick a different distance. Can anyone think of any other pro athlete who continues to fall so frequently in championship races? Its a little funny, a little sad, and a little "move on to the next distance."
I didn't know if I missed someone else in the past ... perhaps Decker or others. I ask this because this site just yawned and never said a word about her accomplishment, but then somehow wanted to jump on indirect allegations that a she was somehow responsible for a competitors fall ... as if that was even a story. They are going to bring you news at eleven.
As I said this is just pathetic journalism and they have no intention of bringing a balanced account and I think it is directly due to the personality disorders of the many who monitor this site.

Correct. Our interview with Torres would indicate it was most likely McGee but replays need to be watched to confirm.
Was actually thinking Uceny could win, but when she fell I just shook my head. It could be just coincidence but most likely it's just her own poor technique.
