Happy Father's Day! looking forward to hearing from my far-flung kids by phone, not cutting the grass, watching the Nats after my run, and otherwise relaxing.
pretty good week of running including
tuesday 4 mile progression at about half-marathon pace (24:59) and 4 X 400 (200 jog) at I hope 5k though intended mile pace (total 5:50)
friday 5k x-c race in 19:57 for 6th OA and 1st AG
X-c race was tough -- tall wet grass, mud, hills, and very high humidity. I'm not used to it yet -- every year I seem to need more time to get adjusted to hot/humid. I was credited with the same time as #'s 4 and 5. #5 was a young guy with whom I'd had a back and forth throughout, and #4 a young woman who passed me with about 800 to go.
I didn't recognize her, which is unusual for our low-key club races, but results list shows she's from Michigan. The expert is always from out of town!
have a great week,
Dave
