Have you ever run a local 5k race and been surprised by your age group medal? I am an older female, not particularly fast (some on here would say sluggishly slow), but I won a medal for a finishing time of 23:45. There were about 600 runners overall and maybe 30 in my division. Weird.
I'm happy because I got a PR, but I raced a similar time a few weeks ago in a larger race and was about 6th place in my age group, which is more typical for me
