It was really the world relay Champs jammed into the schedule that made it tough on them.
Running Doha and Pre was normal for them to run in their schedule.
I didn't see AK pulling out of the Relays to protect their athletes.

Rumor is that Kiprop will run anyway:
This is going to turn out to be a non-story. The Kenyans will run in Rome and then head back to Nairobi for the Commonwealth Trials. Asbel Kiprop will run.
It's pretty odd of AK to insist on Trials for the World Relays, then watch their people proudly race to world records and gold medals in the Bahamas, and then fret that they're racing too much.

Good lord, what an INTELLIGENT thing to say. I'm sure everyone in Africa wishes they had your intelligence.
Anyways, sorry to be rude, but I hate overgeneralization. And, yes, I've been guilty of it myself.

Probably reap right?
you are just expressing your ignorance

On the contrary, AK is very competent.
Get him out of circulation, do the required PED cycle, and get him back in better form.
It's called protecting your athletes. This is a textbook situation, where they offer him shelter for what he is about to do. It happens all the time, around the world.
Kiprop is probably a great miler in his own right, if he goes 3:50 he is amazing--but he is in the same race as everybody else, the race to the bottom. Other guys who have finished their cycles will, and have, crushed his 3:50
This is Kenya's modus operandi, and good for them.
Only a complete idiot would call AK incompetent, considering the raving success they have had over the decades, and continue to enjoy.
Rome and Oslo refused to pay the cash-only AK athlete allowance fee.
You must be the stupid one
Everyone needs to stop using AK as an acronym in a thread about an athlete whose initials are AK. Very confusing.
And the Tin Foil Hat Wearers award goes too...

AK manufactures problems so they can get paid for "solving" them. Rogue managers? WTF are they talking about? Federico and Gabriel Rosa (who manage Asbel Kiprop) are anything but rogue managers as AK knows full well. AK makes a little noise like this to save face in case they don't do well at whatever championship they're concerned about and then they get paid off by the managers and agents - rogue or otherwise. They are utterly corrupt and do nothing for the athletes. Many AK positions are political patronage appointments filled w/ "big men" who know jackshit about running. Frustratingly, there are some good, competent people swimming against a tide of incompetence and corruption.
Also, FWIW - the athletes almost certainly want to run. That's how they make money. Duh. Schedules are usually planned out with the athletes well in advance.
"We can’t let rogue managers and agents exploit our athletes by making them run in even when they are tired.” Kiplagat warned that they will also ban agents and managers whose athletes won’t heed their directive."[/quote]

I Why should Kiprop run in EVERY meet every week?
Plenty of high school kids do it. In fact a lot of them run a mile, a two mile, and two 800s every week, twice some weeks. One 1500 every week for an Olympic champ shouldn't be too challenging.
A great race horse run less race than kiprop does in a year
Unlike a race horse, Kiprop isn't carrying 1400 pounds, or whatever, on four skinny legs.
By the way, Isaiah Kiplagat complains about foreign agents all the time. He did it repeatedly when that German TV journalist actually suggested there was performance-enhancing drug use in Kenya.
It's their default excuse for everything. And why not? It brings in cash. Kiplagat and Okeyo complain about foreign agents, foreign agents pay a little chai and it all goes away. Let's count the athletes that do compete. Athletics Kenya is full of shit.

I can't stand Isaiah Kiplagat, but he does have a pion here. These agents treat Kenyan athletes like racehorses and couldn't give two hoots about their health just thinking of the bottom line. Why should Kiprop run in EVERY meet every week?
You are doing exactly the same thing than what you are blaming Isabellah Anderson in another thread...
"You can't just make blanket disparaging remarks about a country without at least being called to account to back it up. Name names or be sanctioned as accessory to a coverup."
Which Agents ??? give names or better to keep quiet with meaningless statement like this. Ask Asbel first or better to keep quiet. It is obvious you don't know anything.
Regarding athletes representatives, some may not be good, most are very ok. Asbel WANTS and is happy to run. Thanks
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
