This commentary would never have appeared if Lauren Fleshman hadn't written about the scandal on her blog.
I've been off the grid the last 3 days moving apartments and come back to the Internet and see this article in the NY times. I'm on a plane, flying out to PRe. I read the entire NY Times article.
My first reaction, " Great article. Very well written."
Second reaction, "There is no mention or link or LetsRun.com in the article? Did I read it too quickly? Without our story, no one even knows about mitchell. What has happened to journalism? Link back to Wejo's story."
Fleshman may have helped but Weldon broke this story and i'm disappointed to see the Times not link to us. It's like my Boston Marathon story on Ryan Hall. The Boston Globe guy told me he didn't mention letsrun.com's role in the story because it was 'common knowledge that the americans worked as a team.'
So common that it never came up in the press conference.
We spend tens of thousands of dollars going to events, obsessing over them hoping to find a nugget of info we get that can't be gleaned from simply watching it on tv. When we do break it, the least that can happen is we get mentioned.
Fleshman wouldn't have known about it without Weldon. Weldon, as your bro, i'm proud of you.
