Yeah, Tufts isn't national caliber but it's nice to see them and 2 more individuals go. 49 NE guys at nationals is great.

NE is looking very strong as a region. much better than they were looking early in the season. Williams was a podium quality team. Now it looks like more than one NE school could be contending for the podium.
There are also some strong individuals who could shake up the national stage.
You're a brain dead dad if you think Tufts has any shot in hell of being on the podium

What a well thought out response from the midwest. I would expect nothing less.
It's not nice, it's embarrassing. We are not that good of a region. I'll admit it, the Midwest is better, and they got screwed.

Yep! Just because it would be nice to have lots of NE teams go to NCAAs doesnt mean a team like Tufts should go...
Pretty good showing from the northeast at nationals.
Quite the change over the course of the season. Williams looked so dominant at NESCACs, surprised they never showed that form again.
Colby looked good, the improvement of that program is incredible. Will be losing quite a bit next year though.
MIT looked great through three, and Amherst once again had a very solid showing. Don't think Midd had a great race though.
New England repped very well yesterday in Mason.
4 teams all in the top ten is not too shabby!
Heartbreaking to see Colby lose a podium spot on a tiebreaker. Cotton ran an excellent race, as did Mazaheri taking 15th. Really big races for MIT's 1-3, though their 4th and 5th were way back. Amherst lived up to their 2nd place finish at regionals and ran really solid to take 9th.
Props to Middlebury for hanging tough, as they did lose their 4th guy before regionals. Giving the circumstances, 13th place is not bad at all for the panthers. Tufts did as expected and showed they did deserve to race at NCAAs.
Good to see the 6th NE team beat the 5th team from MW, Mideast and Central region, clearly the deepest region. Just gotta break into that podium...
This may be difficult to read on the forum, but I've tracked how the nationals qualifiers from NE did in comparison to their regional placing.
Some interesting observations:
Some different guys stepped up for Williams (Townsend and Ford, who ran at ECACs), while those who were big at Little 3s and NESCACs for Williams continued to regress (Inde and Decker).
With the exception of Guarnaccia, Tufts regressed across the board.
MIT ran exceptionally well, but Beyer's performance really hurt them at nationals.
Kevin Wood was a big mover, snagging a top 35 finish after only finishing 14th in the region. Godwin of MIT was also in the same boat.
Graduating both Hale and Coffman, who will step into Colby's top 5 next season?
****Regional places have been adjusted to account for national qualifiers only. ECAC order was used for people who did not run at regionals.
