They're off
Mike Rutt for USA
Ferguson Rotich for Kenya with a lead at 200.
50.8 or so at 400.
Rutt in second.
Perfect Kenyan strategy. They want to end this on leg #1.

They're saying 1:46 flat on the announcer;. I had Kenya in 1:45.75. Great leg.
Rutt 1:48.
Robby Andrews now running.
50, for Kenyan 2nd leg.
Bermuda in 2nd.

It's over....that's for sure.
1:45.86 for Kenya and
1:47. something for Andrews
Kenya out in 49-50.
Johnson in 49 high
World record on the cards? Going to be close....
$50k for the kenyans if he can run a 1:45...
1:47.7 5:19.36 for Kenya after 3 legs.
World record pretty much out the door unless he drops a 1:43.
Kenya
49. 1st 400 on this leg.
Duane in 2nd. Ksczot right behind him. Brazil in 4th.
****
WOw what a finish the Kenya guy almost blew it.
Crowd going nuts.
WOW! Who'd have thought they'd get so close....
Kenya
Poland
USA
Just metres in it

apparently i spoke too soon....
It is very windy there. The always front running Solomon got hurt from the wind. The Polish guy was faster than Solomon.
kenyan anchor leg ran splits 49/60 - oh man
Wow, that was an AWESOME race. Definitely one of the most entertaining track races I've ever watched.
Kszczot did a perfect race passed Solmon and a few meters more and Kenya would loose as well to POL.
here is a pretty good live feed:

Well it certainly looked that way to me.
I'm enjoying watching at
http://www.trackie.com/track-and-field/Articles/iaaf-world-relays-bahamas-2014-live-stream-info/12392/I mean I love relays (the 4x800 is the best event in track) and I am really enjoying this meet, but it's kind of sad that both we and Kenya had guys running 1:47-1:48. I would think you could get some college teams who could have contended today if they fired on all cylinders.
another link if the other doesnt work for you. both work for me
Americans ran a crappy race.
Rutt wasn't ready to compete, Robby left it too late, Sol went out too fast, had nothing left, and Johnson went out WAY too fast. Stupid.
They should've been 4 or 5 seconds faster, and won that race easily.
Especially when the Kenyan anchor ran so dumb, and basically handed it to them.

Can't really argue with that, but it is fairly windy and that slows it up in a relay.

Yep.
As a Canadian, I'm ashamed of our terrible 400m runners. But why didn't we send a fmale 4 x 800m? We've got 6 this year under 2:02
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
