We're 25 minutes from getting underway.
This will be the live thread.
The band is here, Bahamas just got introduced and the crowd went nuts.
Great stadium. Very nice. Built by the Chinese.
Should be good weather. It's 85 with 71% humidity with a decent breeze. The finish straight is covered in shade already and most of track will be as the day goes on.
Only snafu is the head of the LOC is speaking and the microphone isn't working. I think the prime minister is up next.
Mic fixed as I type.

Note the TV Broadcast starts at 6:30pm today and the men's 4x800 is right before that. I'm assuming they'll show the 4x800 on the TV broadcast, but not positive. But if you are monitoring this thread and don't have access to a live stream you'll know the results before you see it on the TV broadcast. -
Opening ceremony happening now:

Youth Relay races had a large number of DNS hope it does not carry through to the Pros

I don't know why Letsrun keeps promoting that DishWorld scam. It doesn't work at all! It says I need to call an 877 number to subscribe to channels. There is nothing on there at all about a free 48 hour trial.
-
Someone tweeted that the Dishworld trials does not work on an iphone.
I know it worked for me on a computer and an android. I tested it on both.
Here's a link straight to the 48 hour page: http://www.jdoqocy.com/click-633363-11622451?sid=48hours -
I though Bahamas 2015 was settled- opening speeches seem to say Bahamas still needs to be given the official word.
Low volume problems for the last two hour on the feed. -
Yes we do get a commission if you sign up but the free trial works. I tried it twice.
Fair warning however that Dish World shows what's on TV broadcast. -
We're underway first 4x200 heat done.

IAAF Trying something new with the runners being introduced through a tunnel.

I just thought of a crazy idea that would make 4x200s way more introducing. 1st 2 legs in lane. Last 2 not.
At the very least for any relay distance the point should be to get as fast around the track as possible. No exchange zones. If you want to hand off early or late go ahead. Who cares if you hand off 3 meters late or early? -
Men's 4x800 order is
Rutt,
Andrews,
Johnson,
Solomon
That's what the start lists says and -
i agree that exchange zones shouldn't be regulated, but i don't agree with you that the last 2 legs should be w/o lanes. then the race isn't about running fast, it's about lane position.
too many possible problems, and times will be slower. drafting won't help you much because if youre trying to go full speed you'll have to be clear of the lead runners legs, and you wont likely be running the same speed. -

Amazing they don't do it. Most 400m runners just love relays - they actually get to race properly for a change. But imagine the pileups that might happen at the 400m point in a close final... -
i cant find the stream on dishworld

Bahamian women just ran in 4x100 and crowd is pumped.
100% full on finishline side. Other side in sun is filling up. They said it was sold out yesterday but it doesn't look like it.
4x800 next. -
yeeks...how did the US get screwed with a doubled up lane 9?
-
My apologies for any formatting. Photos of US 4x800 team that just came out. There's on the start line.

got to say...I'm pumped for this 4 x 8. this relay thing might be a good thing. You can tell by their faces the runners are very serious about it
