What's a "jog"?
yes i can deadlift as much as him, but still rocks that he's powerlifting at 85. vid's from '94, wonder if he is still alive and lifting?
It's go time!
How much did the 85 year-old guy lift?
I thought I was watching footage of a cattle feedlot with lots of bellowing and mooing.

I'm assuming those gold plates were steel 100 lb'ers, couldn't quite count the smaller plates but I'd guess about 485.
If they were regular old iron 45 lb plates -- then only 275 or so, which is like Jordan Hasay level deadlifting, so I don't think the video would have got much recognition -- It's more likely they're 100 lb plates.
i was guessing it was around 285, if its actually 400+ then i amend my answer, and can not in fact lift as much as him.
They've got to be 100 lb plates, Look at Ronnie Coleman's lift before the old guy. No way he is lifting 315 and change in a meet.
The announcer states the weight before the lift
Lol, I had it on mute.

That one's easy. Any decent climber can do that.
Wow, definitely wanted to disagree, because of how easy the old man made it look, but I think after watching Ron, those are definitely 100# plates. The bar was bending like a mofo. It doesn't do that until you get over 500#. It still seems like trick photography. I know strong dudes that struggle over 400#, and that old man makes it look like a joke. Something doesn't add up.
I like how he moves with the speed of an advancing glacier and then does that rapid "wet dog shake" before relapsing into cold molasses mode during the lift.
