Two things stand out here. She needs new friends who share her beliefs and women go on about either food or wine WAY too much.
I agree with her that the cat calls are a bit ridiculous, but c'mon, you can't even look at her when she's running past in a sports bra? Looking is now disrespectful? My eyeballs are now hurtful?
Cat calls are not the equivalent of a leer, a grope, being followed, or someone yelling 'nice rack'...and trying to put them in the same category waters down the point.
I know women that don't mind that cat calls, and some that very much like it. I don't know ANY women that like to be groped. It's not the same. Stop trying to make it the same.
When you take that out of her article it's basically saying, "don't grope or stalk women just because they are wearing a sports bra"...which (unfortunately) is still a worthwhile article.
Sorry but it's how men are. Even if we dont say anything we're thinking it. It's the natural way of things. Many female dogs probably dont like there azzes constantly being sniffed either but that's the way it is. And let's be honest, even though you may say you dont like it women love attention. When you grow up a little more and get a little older you'll wish some guy would give you a catcall. Relax and enjoy it while it lasts.

Don't put me in that category. Not all guys are like this
She's got a nice a$$ though.

Sorry, I forgot that some guys have erectile dysfunction, gay or simply disinterested in anything sexual from the opposite sex. Is it fair to say most men are like that? I'm not a mind reader, I just assumed based on how I feel and the natural way things seem to be.
The part that bothers me:
The second thing? “Perhaps if you ran in a shirt, they’d have left you alone.”
And that brings me to the second set of words I can’t believe I actually have to type: Implying a person deserved harassment is not acceptable behavior, either.
Nobody is implying that a person deserves harassment. The people harassing are the ones at fault. Unfortunately, however, you can't control everyone else. You can only control yourself. There are steps you can take that will minimize (not remove completely) the chances of being harassed.
There are certain neighborhoods that I avoid when I run - this is a form of risk aversion that I take. If I didn't do this and I were to get mugged, it wouldn't be my fault, but I certainly didn't minimize my risks.
The writer of this article is the kind of woman who refers to her pets as her children and has a 140.6 tattoo on her foot. Sorry, but it's true.
Okay so why is it that when I'm out in public running or otherwise it seems women are wearing low tops and as I go by they bend down so I get a better look? Or they bend over. Or when a girl walks by me and rubs her hand across her azz knowing that I'm more than likely checking out her azz. Sometimes they even point to their azzes with their thumb. This happens alot to me and I'm an old wrinkly 55 yo, nothing to look at. I guess it's all in my imagination.
I've never understood the whole cat calling thing. Why do men do it? I mean, does it really elicit a positive response from anyone? Or is it done to intimiate/humiliate the person being called to?

You'll understand when you reach puberty.

I cant answer for anyone else but I think there's different kinds of interactions. The guys with the biggest mouths are clearly losers or so it seems. I usually keep my mouth shut but if some girl bends over to give me and eyeful like I described in my previous post I sometimes make a subtle comment. Actually I say thank you most of the time. If you're one of the girls that like to put on a show, and many do, then I think they like a little comeback. The problem I think is when it's loud and others are around. Women get embarrassed. But if you keep it cool and repectful and for their ears only I dont think it's a problem.

The vast majority of heterosexual men are capable of not being crude or sexually forward to strangers out exercising. You are mentally and socially defective.
That picture is not the author, Susan Lacke, this is her pic from another article:

Would you like being cat called by two muscular gays deep inside the forest?
