Watching the Yanks/Sox game and they showed highlights of Meb throwing out the first pitch. I totally love Meb, but someone in San Diego please teach him how to throw a baseball. Not helping with the "runners are unathletic" stereotype.

I guess he never played Little League.
I never played little league either, but throwing a ball is kind of a universal athletic movement. He could pick it up in 10 minutes. Why not. I mean c'mon... http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=10829868
That was better than 90% of "first pitches" I've seen. Better than Obama's.
I went to a White Sox game where Kara Goucher threw the first pitch... geez.

Agree. The catcher caught it without it hitting the ground first, that's really all you can ask for.
he even threw from the top of the mound, not the base of it
He really should be on the DL and not pitching until his legs aren't sore.
He has the torso of a man and the body of a boy.

And the heart of a blue whale.
they dont get any warmup tosses and they're nervous
Notice how none of the other American runners were on the mound. Hall must have told them to stay in the dugout.
Do American runners also fetch a stick and roll over and play dead when Hall commands them to?

Hall speaks directly to God bro. We are lucky that when he came down from Mammoth Mountain he gave us the running commandments, like "don't push the pace". If you don't believe in Hall, you don't believe in America.
People who didn't grow up throwing a ball are often really bad at it, even if they're otherwise athletic and coordinated. I have foreign-born friends who can do amazing things with a soccer ball with their feet (and heads, etc) but throw a baseball like special needs kids. It's not clear that they could ever be good at it.
better than Mike Tyson: http://www.sbnation.com/mlb/2014/4/17/5626356/mike-tyson-first-pitch-pirates

Do you know what a torso is?
I don't know what the OP is b!tching about.Meb probably wasn't confident to truly pitch to home, so decided to lob it. Smart move.

Definitely in the top 10% if not higher. Better than Tyson's.
Criteria for a passable celebrity pitch:
- Actually pitch from top of mound
- Throw to home without bouncing
Achieved.

No. Running is a universal athletic movement, not ball throwing.
I've actually thought about how I'd do it. I have a strong arm and a good throwing motion, but I'd be so nervous that if I tried to throw hard I'd probably plant it 10 feet in front of me. I think I'd chicken out and lob it in there, taking the minor embarrassment of a weak but accurate throw over the major embarrassment of a gopher killer.
And has anyone mentioned Carl Lewis's throw?
