A 38-year-old American who immigrated from Eritrea wearing Sketchers won the Boston Marathon
This will be in the Truth is Stranger Than Fiction section come next April Fools.
with african DNA
He wasn't wearing Skechers when he immigrated. That said, the two best American distance runners will both be 39 in a few weeks.

I wonder what Nike was thinking about dropping him a few years back.
Great decision Nike, on top of a whole bunch of others.
Don't we all have that?

Yeah, but he only did it because a beachboy American helped aided him by holding back the other Americans who wanted to take it to the Africans when they found the pace to be to slow. Don't forget that part.

Strategy is part of the marathon. Surely you understand that? You don't just go out and sprint start to finish.
A few years back their argument was that Meb was too old and too expensive compared to Ryan Hall. I guess insurances have to look after their money.
Still, wondering if those guys responsible for declining him an invite years ago are still running the elite runners selection process?
I'm buying Sketchers. I hope that you do too.
Sketchers? Good job OP.
I mean...it almost seems unbelievable. Like the group that cares only about money (Africans) were paid off so they wouldn't have to worry about pushing the pace, and then the group that cares about money/winning (Americans) were told by the senior American (and top paid) to hold off on the pace to "do it for the team guys!".
I find this story funny.
