Just watched 60 minutes: How jealous must Alberto (and Galen) be that Shalane and Jerry were on national tv?

I dont know much about Alberto's mindset other than what i read here but do relate to what you are talking about. Runner's can become so obsessed and think, 'This is so important. there's so much pressure.' When in reality, the general public has no idea who Galen Rupp is.

They do know shalane though.

Alberto doesn't want too much of the 60 Minutes spotlight. Think Lance Armstrong and you will know why...

If you were 60 minutes and saw Alberto's antics at USATF Indoors, would you want to put that guy on TV?

That should be their next expose. Not the softballs we saw on this piece, although it was fun, but Steve Croft sticking the mic in Alberto's face and asking why he did it and who he paid off. We really need Mike Wallace for this, RIP.

Salazar was happy to get some TV time at the London Olympics with Mo and Galen taking gold and silver. It trumps Schumacher's 60 minutes appearance.

um, NOPe. sleazy cares a lot. his goal is to promote himself; he doesn't give a damn about the sport. I wouldn't be surprised if he has another roid related heart attack because he is so jealous. I don't know if he was ignored as a child, but something is causing his desperate and pathetic pleas for attention.

as for elfie rupp, he is too dimwitted to be aware of events current or past.

Alberto has got to be burning inside. Especially when it Jerry's extremely successful athlete that gets the attention.

Right!?! I'm sure Salazar is totally wishing one of his athletes could get a huge amount of international press attention for his marathon debut. The Shalane Flanagan run in Boston is clearly the biggest story in the sport over the past 6 months.
