I think she'll be okay. Most guys behind her don't seem to know the race has started.

I guess you missed the 10th post?
only on letsrun.com does an 187 person 5k get analyzed!
With chip timing all everyone has to do is line up properly and they're not going to lose any time.
The problem is: too many inexperienced runners line up too far forward.
I remember a race last year when two over weight women almost got trampled. As I went by them one said to the other, in a giggly voice, "I guess this really is a race."
I lined up with the 7:30 group and these two women were lucky to run 12 minute pace.
Most runners realize that if they line themselves up according to their proper pace they are going to be slowed by the rookies and lose time dodging and weaving for the first quarter mile. Not to mention the energy lost by frustration and stress.
Race directors should stress the importance of lining up correctly. Not just mention it once, but make the announcement every few minutes; "RUNNERS, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION...IT IS IMPORTANT THAT 'YOU' LINE UP ACCORDING TO PACE."
The woman in the picture (#161) finished about mid pack. She should have lined up mid pack.
I'm a middle of the packer and that is where I line myself up to start. In too many of races, the much slower runners (and walkers) don't start in their assigned corrals, walk 4 abreast and then get ticked off when runners jostle them. Pretty annoying really. I have nothing but admiration for this lady running what I think is a respectable pace for her age, but she really should start farther back in the pack.

Two people have, and still no one cares!
I'd much rather see grandma than this whiteboy with his open-handed sprint form...
