I haven't seen these interviews, but levins sure doesn't fit the clasic salazar mode of fresh faced wide face types.

Regardless of our opinions on his performance as a coach, it doesn't change the fact that Nike, Alberto, and Phil Knight wanted him out, and they pressured the university until they got what they wanted... in what now seems like a familiar outcome for his athletes when he or nike wants something.
I'm not a Martin fan one bit, but laughing all the way to national titles, podiums, and trophies... please. The track team at Oregon was irrelevant when Martin got there and you can't deny he led them to the best team finishes they had in the previous decade.

It would be hilarious if there was a little, windowless room somewhere at Nike HQ where people were paid to read Letsrun and post positive Nike stuff.
Many of the shills work for A Duck. A Duck has mentioned that he-she has other supporters many times. He-she simply needs to send out an email telling the shills which anti-Nike threads to hammer on.

Says the Brooks employee. How's the weather in Seattle today?
Don't make it so obvious in the future.

If one of these filler ahtletes, like Dorian Ulrey, or another person used primarily for sparring partners turns out to have more potential or develops into a star, it's an added bonus.
Maybe it's a bonus, or maybe Salazar gets mad at you because you don't know your place as a blocking dummy. Ask Amy Yoder.

Actually, my room has a big window.
This says more about lures than Salazar. Seriously what did he expect? One-on-one coaching?
Is healing close to a WC?

Basements have big windows? Who would have thought?
This is the way Dellinger coached Salazar at Oregon. You were trained so hard that only the very elite (Chapa, Salazar, Clary, Martin, etc.) rose to the top. Those that could not, fell by the wayside through over training, injuries and burnout. And those I listed (plus many other Oregon elites) had very short careers upon graduation. I believe Salazar lasted the longest of the alumni after graduation (correct me if I'm wrong), and he ran hurt most of his career.

You are ignorant and misinformed on so many levels. Martin Smith was killing Oregon T&F. He shut out the Eugene track community and stopped running his top athletes at Hayward Field. His "bullying" style of coaching rubbed many the wrong way. Martin Smith's vision for Oregon T&F was embarrassingly modest for those of us who have been around Eugene for decades and know what Track Town can be.
Vin Lananna came in and restored the old magic. He and Greg Erwin returned the Olympic Trials to Eugene. Oregon men and women are competitive in XC and Indoor and Outdoor track. The Ducks are winning team and individual titles again. The 2014 World Junior Championships are in Eugene. There is discussion about a new indoor facility.
Martin discounted Hayward Field and was making it irrelevant. Lananna recognized the Hayward Field environment is essential to the success of the Duck program and benefits all of USA Track and Field.
Ulrey looks too heavy to run a fast 1500. He really porked out!

Solinsky ran sub 27 weighing 150+ lbs, didn't he? How much does Ulrey weigh?

You "remember reading somewhere"? What a great source, f-tard. Also, what are they going to shoot up prior to a race that would help? Epipens have already been debunked as a benefit, so don't waste our time.
Ice baths have been debunked too, but NOP still does them.
Your point?

How have ice baths been debunked? I benefitted from one just yesterday.

I would dismiss this crazy notion so flippantly. There are liberal "eavesdroppers" all around who listen non-stop to Rush, Sean, Glenn B. and the rest of them hoping to catch them saying something racist or any other egregious comment which could end their careers.
I made two comments that are accurate statements.
1. Alberto and Phil wanted him out, they made it happen.
2. His track team performances had been better than they had been in since 92 and were getting stronger.
You're entire post is a glowing and accurate portrayal of Vin and he deserves all the credit he's given for restoring Oregon to it's days of former glory. However, it also has nothing to do with how Alberto and Nike forced Martin out.
Regardless of how subjectively you, the community, AlSal, Nike feel he was wrong for Oregon, he had a contract and he had improved team results than Oregon had in the previous 8 or 10 years before he got there.
This is a call for the AD, not Nike. So, while I agree with you that he wasn't the right guy for the job, the way he was let go had more to do with influence than anything else.
I'm not ignorant or misinformed. My argument has nothing to do with the Vision of Oregon or the legacy that Vin left. It has to do with Alsal and Nike using Influence to get their way whenever they want. That's a valid argument.
As far as how this relates to Dorian, like I said in my first post, it's more along the lines of AlSal being completely focused on the athletes that have the ability to accomplish his team goal, winning olympic medals, and until your at that level, you're not a priority.
That works for some athletes, not so much for others. If it wasn't working for him, I'm glad he left.
Alberto Salazar is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life.
approx 162lbs on the day of his 10k: this from the horses mouth.
