Right now I am in 7th grade and this will be my first year running track. Two days ago, I ran 30:39 in a 5 mile handicapped race where I started second-to-last and ran alone the whole time.
The morning after the race, I ran 10 x 400 on the track w/ 1 min. rest in 1:18.0, 1:18.5, 1:19.7, 1:20.1, 1:21.1, 1:20.3, 1:19.3, 1:19.5, 1:18.6, and 1:17.4.
My question is, what 1600 time can I shoot for during track season? My parents think I can break 5, but I still don't know if I can hit the state-qualifying mark of 5:19.14.
