i was wondering - how fast can you improve yearly on a half marathon, and what are your personal improvement rate for the distance?
on march 2011 i've raced 1h23:29
then on september 2011 i've raced 1h:20:51
(-2:38 in six months)
on march 2012 i've raced 1h19:50
(-1:01 in six months, accumulated of 3:39 in one year).
On june 2012 i've raced 1h18:17
(-1:33 in three months, adopted a more conservative pace here)
On march 2013 i've raced 1h15:52
(-2:25 in nine months and accumulated of roughly 4 minutes in one year)
so in two years i've improved 8 minutes training constantly 50-65 miles/week. Of course i've improved in other distances as well.
this sunday will run another half marathon and am aiming 1h13:30, so i hope to shatter another 2:00 - 2:30 of my previous PB. As i recently run a 33:45 10k, i think that will be possible.
I was wondering what would be other yearly improvements and at what point we start talking about seconds in a one year-basis. 1h12? 1h10?
