I ran 4:37 pace through 2 miles and ran 5:12 my last mile.
I was in 2nd place feeling okay, and Within two laps 8 people past me and I lost it mentally and physically.
Has anyone been in a similar situation?
I ran sub 15 5k in a time trial workout in practice a few weeks back and thought for sure I was in 14:25 shape.
This also happens in a 10k. I was on sub 30 pace and with 2 miles to go I lost it
