I would not have waited until college to realize 4:30 isn't a fast mile.

Oh man, there is so much I would do differently. I used to think back in high school that my 30 miles a week was quite a lot. I guess it was compared to the rest of my team. So I would of run a hell of a lot more in high school. I also would of gone to SUNY Cortland to run with Jack right after high school. I went to a community college without XC or track first. When I finally got to Cortland I did pretty well and improved a lot. I just would of liked to have a full 4 years to run with Jack. Basically I just wish I would of been more knowledgable about running from an earlier age.
I would run more then 32-76/week.

Work-related: Although I love my job, I would have stayed with my government job. It was perfect for training with no O/T, lots of holidays and vacation/sick days, low stress, and a retirement plan. There was also travel where I could race all over the country on the taxpayers' dime.
Being that I'm one of those taxpayers whose dime you don't mind spending, suffice it to say that I'm glad you didn't stay with the government job and sponge of us hard working, tax paying citizens.
Id have kicked with 400 to go instead of 800 at the state meet my senior year. 4 people passed me in the last 50 cause I got too excited and went too early. Missed all state by less than a second. Guess I learned my lesson though.
I would go back to all the times where I was wishing I could go back and change something...and then I would stop wishing I could change things and concentrate on the present...
Make use of what you have RIGHT NOW, then you won't be wishing in 5 years that you could change today's actions...
I would have stayed off the injury machine called Div. 1 Cross-Country and Track & Field. I then would have used most of that energy to focus on a stronger education. I would also control my own running environment rather than let a clown at the University called my coach run it for me.
REPLY TO: I would not have done that "art film" to put myself through school.
Better yet: you should have made sure your contract provided lifetime royalties...everyone's still watching you.

What about you?
Wanted to hear on what they would change. Maybe we can help the next generation.
I would never have gone out with Rachael. Damn that chick f***ed me up. We had some pretty hot sex for a few months but she really f***ed me good in the end. That's been about 12 years ago but I swear to you, if I ever see that cunt again I'll show her who's going to finish that story once and for all. That's about it.
Would have told my dad to quit f***ing up my life.
