Alan Webb Retires From Track And Field

In a perfect world, I would have really liked to see Webb go sub-4 one more time at Millrose yesterday. But when I saw that wasn't going to happen I was just yelling at my TV screen, "Don't get last!"
Thankfully, Miles Batty blew up and ran 4:10, four seconds behind Webb. He should be proud, he will now forever hold the distinction of last guy to lose to Alan Webb.
Whatever happened to Batty? - Was promising in college with 3:54i mile.
He made the final at USAs last year in his first year as a pro so it's not like it was horrible. But he never ran that fast and definitely didn't do anything on par with his 3:54. The US is so deep right now though at the mile/1500, it's hard to get noticed if you're not killing it.
