The best race of his life in my opinion.
There is another thread on this, but it is a sign that the Al Sal training is beginning to gel for Cam.
He ran 3:36.8 last year and has been showing he's been showing he's in the shape of his life indoors. Not sure why anyone is surprised.
Faster than Steve Scott... I'm pretty impressed...
Great run for second to Lagat (and a win over Bumbalough, Jager and Torrance), and he wasn't even mentioned in the Letsrun predictions.
I think it was obvious after his 5000 PR that he is extremely fit and could have gone much faster if he hadn't had to take over pacing for Rupp's 5000.
Look for him to medal at World Indoors.
Medaling at worlds is a little optimistic. He did look good though.

OK, maybe a tiny bit optimistic.
But honestly, I don't put him more than 2-3 seconds off Rupp in a 3000 right now, and I think he will prove to be a smart racer as he develops the tools to be in the mix at the WC level. Depending who shows up, who knows...
Hmmm, and I would have thought that thyroid condition was going to slow him down.
Your surprise the butt twins would ignore a NOPer? Cmon man!

...did you miss the last 3000m he ran?

Where he put himself in great position and just couldn't kick well in one shoe?
Farah got outkicked by a guy that ran the whole race with one shoe.

He lost by over 7 seconds.

That's LetsRun. One Ethiopian is (very impressively) unaffected by losing a shoe, thus proving, universally, that losing a shoe has no affect.
And to the above poster, did you watch the race or just see the result? Cam ran near the front for what looked like an incredibly easy 4:02 1600 before his shoe came off, then the pace slowed, and Levins was within 1 sec of the lead until 300m to go, when he was clearly left unable to kick with one shoe. That result didn't mean sh*t, except that Cam is a good competitor and sportsman.
Given all I've seen of Cam this season, I think he's ready for big things. Don't be surprised if he breaks 13:00 this year.

I wouldn't be shocked with sub 3:34 either. I have a feeling that this is a 1500/5000 year for Cam. Save 10000 for now.

Based on the fact that Rupp beat him by 17 or 18 secs in a 5k a few weeks ago?
had sniffles at Olympics

I watched the race. Losing a shoe doesn't cost you 6 seconds.

Sure it can, if you're wearing slippery socks.
