Have I become a wimp I almost always opt to run on the treadmill versus going out in single digit weather.

Yes, but I would argue you were always a wimp.
I beg to differ, makes you mentally tough! Op, do what you have to do to get in your runs.
Back in the day we didn't have treadmills readily available like the youth of today. We had to run laps in the school hallway. Nothing made you tougher than 112 laps on a hard tile floor going up or down a few steps every 25 seconds.
at least it was warm wrote:

Did your school have brick walls in those hallways too? I heard it would make you really tough running head first into those. Ah, I bet those were the good ol' days. Tough guys everywhere... they just don't make 'em like that today. sigh.
If we always insisted on doing things as "tough" as those before us, we would still be hunting for our dinner.
I'm pretty tough and quite accomplished in mixed martial arts , and I choose my treadmill in these single digit days. I paid my dues for over twenty years withiut one, and ran in everything. I don't think it makes you wimpy. This weather does not let any melting occur, and one slip could put you out of running for a long time.
The combination of cold and snow/ice around has me hitting the treadmill these days. Don't tell my mom. She'd be embarrassed to know I was being such a wuss.

Do you shave your legs, chest and ass too? Nothing screams tough like a smooth backside.
