Do people in Europe go as crazy over Black Friday as Americans do (stabbings, fights, etc.)?
Do people in Europe go as crazy over Black Friday as Americans do (stabbings, fights, etc.)?
No, because there is no such thing as bargain shopping in Europe with all the high taxes.
Europeans don't have Black Friday. They have White Wednesday.
No, they save all their violent rage for their football matches.
Are Americans really going all that crazy? Yes, Black Friday is constantly mentioned on TV right now due to all the ads. And the news media covers it as a top story.
But the US averages 40 murders a day as a country regardless if it's Black Friday. The latest report I've heard is that there were only 4 violent incidents, and only one involved shooting and that was by police involving a shoplifting incident that went awry and endangered an officer being dragged by a car.

People have been trampled rushing the stage at concerts or rushing the field at sporting events and even worse has happened at political protests in other parts of the world. Is it really all that violent out there on Black Friday? Or is this just a news media sensation since they have nothing else to talk about?
Canadian retailers only just started implementing Black Fridays since the recession, a couple of years back. I've never personally been shopping on a Black Friday but, from what I hear, the discounts aren't as big as in the U.S. and not many consumers make a special point of going shopping.
The biggest clear-out event of the year in Canada is the Boxing Day sale. We also celebrate Thanksgiving in October.
Please show some modesty. Europeans don't even have the money to take a bath but once a month let alone have the money to shop.
They've started doing 'Black Friday' in the UK recently and have been reporting it on the news.
I think what generally happened was that the shops were very busy, there were reports of one shopping related fight on the news. I don't think it went any crazier than that.
Calling it "Black Friday" is racist, particularly when combined with stories of violence. Call it "Bargain Friday" or "Shopping Friday".
Thanksgiving is an American holiday. The pilgrims were thankful to have gotten the Hell out of Europe. Europe has been totally destroyed by leftism and Europeans have nothing to be thankful for.

You do realize it's called "Black" Friday because it's a financial designation for profits for businesses just as red is a designation for debt.
People are people.

Capitol I for the Irish if you don’t mind - I think you should check out the level of education in Irish state schools compared to those in the USA
It’s quite amusing reading the comments on Letsrun, displaying such ignorance about the rest of the world.
We in Europe now consider the USA now a nation of a few million overlords and 300 million serfs, the huge disparity in wealth between the super-rich and the rest evident in that country - unprecedented in any modern advanced economy.
And the money being spent on Black Friday in America is all borrowed money - a country that can only survive by its own treasury printing (out of thin air) $85 billion every month to pay the difference between what your government spends and what it actually receives in income.
Hence the greatest national debt in the history of the world - over $17 trillion.
Don't worry about it, as an American he is probably going to die 5 years younger than an average European.
The rest of the world does not celebrate Thanksgiving and therefore do not have a "Black Friday"
In my country people act a bit less crazy, but not because of their intelligence but because there are no such good deals over here. 40 per cent off is the most you can get.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
