I did some fast repeats on the track yesterday and i was thinking about doing a 6 mile tempo today. I feel like i have recovered properly so i was just wondering if anyone else does these types of workouts two days in a row

Dave wottle has talked about his pre OG gold workouts - he used to go hard MTW and then easy the rest of the week. I believe the goal was to teach his legs and mind to work even when they were tired. Probably geared to OG rounds.
I often do two workouts in a row but will usually leave the most demanding for day 2. In your case, I would have done the tempo first and the reps the following day as they are more taxing on the body and you can then gauge your effort (and prevent injuries) accordingly.
With the reps first and tempo afterwards you will be running on legs that are probably in need of some recovery.
My favorite combinations are tempo+fartlek, tempo+hills or fartlek+hills.
A friend, who had a best of 2:13 for the marathon, when preparing for a major race would run 10 miles @ 5 min/ mile on Saturday and then run 15 miles @ 5 min/ mile on Sunday. He felt that he was prepared to race the marathon distance after completing these two workouts.

Jack Daniels has some weeks when his programs have back to back workouts--overrides something in the post workout recovery.??
Sure.
When I was running with Coach Fred Foot in Canada we did 3 days of intervals in a row and maybe 4.
You have to move up your workouts gradually and be patient. I wanted to run a marathon but trained for 4 years before I did so.
In 1966, I trained with Coach Mihaly Igloi. There were 13 sessions a week. The work outs were all intervals and sometimes intervals were run 5-6 times a week. He watched every session and doled the workouts out in sets as we did them. You never knew when a workout was about to be over.
It was my hobby and I found it to be great fun.
