My running bucketlist:
- run all the major city marathons
- run a sub 240 marathon
- run 6000 miles in a year
- run a 200 mile week
- run the 153 mile Spartathlon from Athens to Sparta as my final race as a competitive runner
-Never see a woman naked.
(Also I live in Oregon and will do the Eugene Marathon which ends on Hayward Field lol)
I would just change that to your life bucketlist because if you do that...you will have none outside of running.
You realize that Olympic silver medalist Galan Rupp can almost walk in any american city and not get recognized.
Good luck with that.

Win a Marathon
Win a race and receive a BIG CHECK with your name on it!
Race a marathon in Japan
Run the Major marathons
Race at Hayward Field
The BIG CHECK goal is awesome!
Have you ever asked a race director if prize money is awarded in big check form before the race?
I still have win a marathon, win a 10k, race a beer mile and run a 24 hour race left on my list.
In no particular order ... Krispy Kreme Challenge, Comrades Marathon, NYC marathon, sub 2:40 marathon (presently 2:48 at 34yo), Leadville 100, and all the big road races I've never done ... Falmouth, Peachtree, Boulder-Boulder, Cherry Blossom, among others.

that's a bit too sweeping. I'd say anyone significantly interested in US distance running as well as those who monitor the olympics and just average runners probably would recognize him.
though I'm not entirely sure what percent of the population that represents. sadly, probably a small part.

-run a race with my dad (before he passes or is unable to run)
-win a mid-level or large scale race
-run a marathon and break 3 hours (i'm a 1:17 halfer so it shouldn't be a problem; just don't like running that far)
Break 5:00 in the mile (again- I've been well under 5:00)- I'm 54 yrs old.

recently i was warming up for a workout on nike's track and there were a couple of older runners just finishing up a workout. they asked about my chicago marathon shirt (ran it in 2010) then one asked how frequently i ran the springwater corridor (used to be at least once a week) and that they recognized me from running on it. i'm a nobody in the grander world of distance running, but even in portland people have recognized me. so it can happen to anyone if they run popular routes frequently.
i've also run a victory lap at hayward field. i won the B section 1500m at the oregon twilight meet in 2008. have a picture of obama from when he showed up to that meet.

I saw Teg standing on the sidewalk outside the Hilton last Saturday before the Chicago Marathon. I walked over to say hello and wish him luck. He looked absolutely amazed that someone actually recognized him.
He seemed like a really nice guy, btw
Break the tape one time. I know I can do this by running smaller events but still would be cool with a decent sized race.

Hopefully in 2-3 years sub-4 mile, sub-1:50 800.
My running bucket list consists of:
-Sub 30:00 XC 10K
-Score for my XC team all four years of college
-Sub 2:30 Marathon.
Was at a marathon recently. Talking to a guy, another guy walks by. Friend says this runner who does 2 marathons a month. He wants to do a hundred marathons. Slow about four hours. Still, the guy flys all over the world and runs all the nice races,
One of mine that has not been mentioned is Pamplona. The white suit and red sash and hope to not be gored - I think that is one to tell your grandkids about.
Speaking of being recognized - I got on a plane at Ontario airport (in 2008?) for a flight to Portland. The woman sitting next to me was obviously fit and thin. It was the Mt.Sac relays weekend. I didnt recognize her but it was Carrie Dimoff nee Strickland. She has made a few US finals in the steeple. She seem genuinely pleased that I recognized her as a runner and knew something about the training that running at a almost world-class level entailed.
Win a race wearing bunz
