Not a mile-by-mile analysis, but two important things to know. Miles 1-2+ are really quiet. Mile 2+ to 10 are really loud. Decide on the right pace and stick to it when you hit Brooklyn. It is very easy to be caught up in the crowd's enthusiasm and your own adrenaline and go through 10 too fast, for which you will pay.
Also, the one-mile hill from 110th to 90th (in Manhattan, 20 blocks to the mile) on Fifth Avenue, mile 22+ to 23+, is a bitch, but once you're in the Park you'll be fine.
After watching the Chicago race this year (via stream), I realized how much more I'd like to run NYC despite it being a tougher course. Chicago was very uninspiring.
