You want your family to die? That's what's at stake here. I choose 50 miles, because 100 miles would take me weeks.

Had to look up what a color run was, but it seems like a fairly good place to pick up chicks. So I would choose the 100 mile ultra.

This is the route I would take
Color runs are the stupidest idea ever for our sport. What are we, a bunch of 5 year olds? "Look at all the purple right here!" Stupid.
100-mile trail run no doubt. A 100-miler is not nearly as painful as you'd think if you train and execute well. The training is far more relaxed than the typical marathon training - all you need to do is to log a huge amount of very slow miles and eat a lot, and the race itself can be enjoyable even in the last 10 miles. But if you lose control and get into a death march, oh boy, that would not be fun.
Get a clue, losers. 90%+ of the snivelling wimps on this message board couldn't finish either one. You love to talk about how easy 100 milers are ("all you have to do is walk") because really you do not want to accept the challenge of completing one. Actually training for a 100-miler, and really racing it, takes balls. Criticizing it because some people walk a lot of it makes about as much sense as criticizing the marathon, or the 5k for that matter, because some people walk most of the way.
And I have no idea WTF a 50-mile color run is. But since everybody seems to be associating it with hot chicks, I'm sure all you skinny losers would fail at that, too. You talk big: "I wanna go where all the good-looking chicks are! ....and BEER!!! ...and BACON!!! Twerps. But lets face it: you have NEVER picked up a hot chick in your life, and you never will. And you don't really like beer, and you don't know what the big deal is about bacon.
You are forced to do one: 50-mile color run or jab your eyeball with a fork.
This is easy. 100 mile ultra. Get to suck in that fresh mountain air and see some beautiful country.
A better question: 50 mile mud run or 50 mile color run. Both do not release results and have a $150 entry fee.
Forced? I consider it an excuse to do the 100 mi.

What is a color run? I have seen some ads with people with paint all over them. What is the point of these runs?
Is a 50M color run a new, contrived event that lasts 50M; or would it be running/prancing existing color run events for 50 miles? Because the former, by not being timed or competitive, would never end, and wouldn't attract the somewhat hot but honestly pudgy color run girls that can barely run 2 miles as it is. Instead, it would attract the overly-wrinkled visages of (otherwise nice) ladies that do ultras anyway.
I know the hatred for 100's...I enjoy them, but I understand some of the mockery. But don't be silly: people actually do backpacking trips of 100 or more miles for fun, making a 100M a glorified version of that (with ample food). NOBODY does disorganized/training color runs for fun, it's just a gimmick!
Color runs are suddenly interesting and smart now.

Here you are:
http://thecolorrun.com/Judging from what I've heard--and in fairness I haven't experienced one personally, since the ads don't really grab me--it looks like the point is to start out wearing white and end up being multi-colored after running an untimed 5k. Meh!
Ultras aren't my thing either, but I could somewhat see myself doing ONE if circumstances required it.
Choice between 50 mile color run and 50 mile mud run? Noooooo!
