and the new commerce sec'y came out and said that there won't be any trade wars.
sounds to me that they will focus on currency values rather than tariffs to try to help the US. In other words, give foreign politicians some way to say no to devaluing their currency.
that's not unprecedented, and can be done in a calm way. There is a long history of international cooperation on currencies.
