Are you kidding me? 3 guys on the same team under 9.90 in an open 100m? That's never happened. As long as they can get the stick around and the 4th guy doesn't suck they will kill it.

the 1992 4 x 1 team had:
mike marsh: 9.93 (april 92)/19.73 (92 OG)
leroy burrell: 9.88 (WC 91)
dennis mitchell: 9.91 (WC 91)
carl lewis: 9.86 (WC 91)
they had, the greatest #3 runner ever (mitchell) the greatest anchor runner ever (lewis), a former world record holder in the 100m (burrell), and the 2nd fastest man ever at the time over 200m (marsh).
no to mention the fact that they had run many races together beforehand in that order - and were comfortable with the handoffs.
it will be a tall order for this 2004 team to break the WR.
I dont know if any of you guys have seen the races at the trials or the olympics but there is no way that crawford will lead off. He is the worst starter out of the group,it is just ugly to watch him start, he is a great sprinter because of his top end speed.
Gatlin
Crawford
Miller
Greene
we're forgetting bernard williams
1. Capel -- good 100/200 man, just don't have another start like the one in Sydney
2. Gatlin -- The Olympic champion, ran 2nd leg for Tennessee and will likely cover the most distance
3. Crawford -- the best 100/200 man this year; can run a strong curve
4. Greene -- a clutch performer, when he's healthy, you've got to run perfectly to beat him. If the passes are in sync, you could see sub 37.4 (remember, 37.40 has been done twice).
I'd like to note that Coby Miller was mentioned somewhere in the BALCO deal; whereas the others have not (unless you count Gatlin/Crawford's coach)
the last place you'll find capel running is leg 1...he's not a starter
Just throw in Jeremy Wariner in there, forget slow Mo.
