I think you mean Brandon Johnson did not have Rudisha's endurance.

There was a lot of wind out on the backstraight that a lot of runners we're complaining about which was a factor in the slower times. They split 400 in 50.2 and then 600 in 1:18
Really. I can't believe how absurd so many of you sound excusing Solomon for it "being a slow race". He just recently ran a race where he took it start to finish in sub 1:44.

Why did Solomon choose to let it go out slow? Should have passed the rabbit (assuming there was one).

I can't believe how stupid many here sound for not recognizing that Solomon (but not Symmonds) has a 600m AMERICAN RECORD ATTEMPT at Harry Jerome IN TWO DAYS.
Of course, he's not going to push the pace now.

In Edmonton today. Symmonds wins in 1:44.high, beating Solomon by a couple tenths. Looks like he still has the advantage in a slower race.
Both of them destroyed the rest of the field as Rutt was third almost 2 seconds back.
This just may be symmonds year despite losing nationals for the first time in 6 years.
It is good for the sport and event, domestically at least if these two have a rivalry and trade wins.
Solomon woke up ill before the race, so not bad for him.
Symmonds, I don't know what to say about the guy, he gets lower and lower brow as time goes on.
All this nonsense about parimutual betting and serving beer at track meets.
Can we add midget races with that Nick? Oh wait, he is a midget.
The problems of track and field are deeper than a few shallow solutions.
I can't believe Symmonds. After the race he went around like a wuss, shaking the hands of his opponents and hugging Solomon. There is no room in sport for this kind of behavior, no wonder track is going downhill. What's wrong with Symmonds showing some fire and ignoring his opponents, perhaps punching out or spitting on a few of them?

Here you are complaining day in and day out about the 'hate' for Rupp, and then you go ahead and do this to Symmonds. You are a douche.
Betting and serving beer at track meets would be very good. The only place where people meet up for a track meet is Oregon. Something needs to be done.
Clearly you are too old and conservative to be a part of the change to make things better. Unlike Symmonds, who have accomplished more than you, have a better understanding of the sport and doesn't use all his time whining on a message board he hates but still hangs out in because of his lack of friends.
“But look at Zurich (the Weltklasse meet on the IAAF’s major-league Diamond League circuit). I would argue that it’s the greatest non-championship meeting in the world. You walk in, you get a booklet with all the stats and odds for all the athletes. You go to (a betting kiosk) and put down (on an athlete) and you’ve got a horse in the race.
“Maybe you pick an underdog, and you’re cheering as hard for that underdog as you’d be cheering for (Jamaican superstar Usain) Bolt out there.
“Because, if you’ve got a little bit invested in there, it’s a lot more fun, carefree attitude. Let’s not make track and field this serious thing where you feel intimidated by the athletes, you’re out there haveing fun with them.”
Thoughts about this Duck? I'm guessing you've never been to Zurich, but that meet is very very good. You have to go back to the old Bislett Games era to find an equally good meet.
Also, read this you moot:

You should watch the race before commenting like this.
The rabbit was requested to go through 50.0 and hit 49.9, even continuing to 500. What else do you want? Solomon was a full second back from him.

Nick doesn't need to keep up. He just needs to run his race and pick up the pieces
Even if Symmonds runs right on his PR he won't be picking up any pieces higher than fourth.
Between Amon, Aman, Kaki, Kitum, Solomon and Rudisha, there will be NO MEDALS in the race over 1:43.0. 1:41s and 1:42s only.
Welcome to the new 800.

Yes, it's great.
Really good that these guys, Rutt and others can get in fast races, test out tactics, etc in the US and Canada, not just Europe. Might actually be good to keep their cards to their chest this way while Aman and company are racing in the Diamond League.
Situation seems similar to 2011 when Rudisha was hurt and bamboozled the field into following him through a 51+ second first lap.
If Rudisha is at 90% or less this is very good for the Americans especially since each guy brings a different skill set to the line.
STonecold Lock is two American men medals in Moscow.

Very good point.
But I think there is enough firepower in the field that they won't settle in behind Rudisha if he takes them out on that pace. After 2012 I suspect these guys are less afraid to take the lead if it dawdles.
Symmonds is very smart and aware of how the game is played. You don\'t make the blacks you beat a big part of the finishing celebration/scene you will get labelled anti-diversity real fast. Ask Paula Dean what happens to you then.

Foooool. Solomon's not going to be 100% every race. Reportedly he woke up the morning of the race ill. He's not a robot fellow.
"Saladbar", you and coach d always seem to show up at the same time on these bash "Nike", bash "Alberto", bash "Rupp", bash "Symmonds", bash "Centro", bash "Hasay"....threads. Are the two of you using the same computer, or do you guys have split personalities?
Weird!!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
