What lines of argument do you take against these fools?

Why are you arguing with them? Just run, its not your feet.
the journey is half the fun.
there many ways to success
Look at the front of the pack, there are no people in that pack running without shoes or in vibrams. Their "movement' is one started for those in the back end of the race.
Just tell them you model your running after fast runners, not back of the packers.

I mean except for Herb Elliott (

Nowdays barefoot is for golf courses. Would not truth my soles to anyone else. You never know when you get a bit of glass in the foot, then it is game over.
Look at pictures from Junior World XC meets and you'll see some fast Africans running without shoes, too. The key thing about them and the NZers is that they grew up running bf and don't run on pavement.

This. I cannot figure out why anyone would care what someone else runs in unless it was your kid or something similar. Seriously, could you explain why it matters to you? I'm really intrigued.
Their evangelical stance on the benefits of barefoot running annoys me. These people are usually hobby joggers who parade their false knowledge as though they have become enlightened experts on everything to do with running. I don't have the intellect to argue against their cult-ish claims however, hence why I have sought help from the collective wisdom of LetsRun.

Well that's 2, but look at your local road race, even the faster guys there wear shoes.
Also, get your own d@mn name, dont post under mine!

Fast guys at local road races? Ha ha ha ha. You're comparing those hobby joggers to Herb Elliott? Ha ha ha ha.
Tell them that running with shoes is better and that's what you've been told your whole life.
I wouldn't bother to argue with anyone who is brainwashed. You are wasting your breath.
Tell them that even their heroes the Tarahumara, run in footwear.

The only barefoot guy was the douche that stole Jureks wife.
we were not born to run on concrete

Runners in general are usually hobby joggers.
It takes years to adjust to barefoot running. Adjustments to bone density, shape, ligaments, muscles, reflexes and nerves must go on for at least two years before it can be done with any significant pace or volume. Are you willing to run slow and low for two years? Well joggers are, that's why it's mainly them who switch.
The least dangerous thing is stepping on stuff. Glass is nothing. Most "barefoot runners" are really just minimalists, clueless to this simple fact - but you didn't know it either, did you. Your self-described weak intellect is not worthy to be arguing with anyone about anything.
