I can answer this - last year's Pre Classic in the mile - Lagat was 14th, 5 seconds off the winner. 3:54.
And it means less, but at Penn Relays this year he ran what - 3:58 for a 1600? Sort of mediocre. Early in the season Lagat isn;t always snappy. And this year could be worse than last year since he probably had to take an easy week in March after the NYC half.
