Not highest pay, but definitely out of it.
How can you zone out as a teacher? Don't you always have to be telling kids what to do?

My wife is a staff attorney. She has been doing document review for 1.5 years now, just out of law school. She made $98,000 last year, living in the midwest. She doesn't do this, but her work is such that her co-workers can watch movies on their ipad all day while performing their duties. When my wife has to bring her work home, we watch TV while she works. This doesn't mean she likes her job or wants to continue in it, but it's nice bank in the meantime....
So, short answer is, laywer.

or CEO etc, although you do need to be an expert in BS
I basically sit in a cubicle and dial outserviced phone numbers all day and make $40,000 a year. Living in the Midwest it isn't too bad of a salary but it sure makes me want a bullet in my brain.
In home nurse for an elderly bed ridden person. You sit around for two days straight zoning out and then have 5 days off. Heck you might even be able to score some medical marijuana to help you with the zoning out.
Actuary. If you're smart enough to pass a few tests you can make a ton of money with zero stress. I've known friends/coworkers who literally sleep on the restroom couch for hours during the middle of the work day.

You don't want to have a job that allows you zone out all day. I have that, and it's brutal. As a human being, you need interaction and a feeling of purpose. Most people will become depressed without those things.

Moron, how is that high paying?
It is not high paying, but it is the highest paying job that allows you to zone out in my opinion. I'm a grad student and I love it. I get to run whenever I want, as far as I want, and the rest of the day I just hang out and study cool stuff that I enjoy.
And I'm not a moron. Why the moron part anyway? Why did you feel the need to put that there? Do you have turrets syndrome or something? Maybe that's how your parents talked to you? low self esteem much?
Does grad school pay $200k per year? That's what I've been making for about the last 10 years answering a phone for troubleshooting calls once every 3-4 hours and the fix is always the same (reset the unit).
I second what the guy said about mindless work being brutal. When we actually had real engineering problems that required thinking under pressure I was much happier.
However, how do you leave a $200k per year job for a $100k per year job when you have kids, etc. ? I am edging towards a career change but it's hard to take a hit like that...
A young able-bodied welfare recipient. Think about it, you do all you want all day, but you get to collect money at the end of the month. This is the quintessential "I get to be paid to do what I love". While the money is not much, the margins are ridiculous.
