Assuming you are a 400/800 type runner, and assuming that your coach will not give any workouts other than at 800/mile pace for the rest of the season (both big guesses based on the information given here) then you might need to sneak in other types of workouts.
Here is a thread where coach Renato Canova talks about the 400/800 type of runner. Scroll down to about the middle of page 10 and go to paragraph d) which starts with "Cases as Rudolf Harbig..." He goes on to talk about the training of Marcello Fiasconaro. Fiasconaro was the first guy to break 1:44 for the 800. For you, the key workouts could be
6 x 150 in 20.5 or so, recover 5-6 minutes
3 x 300 in 42 or so, recover 8-10 minutes
The other workouts listed for Fiasconaro are good too. If you have some time to do a workout on your own, maybe on a Sunday, try these workouts and see what happens.
