Hi all,
First of all my condolences to all that were affected in Boston. It feels so scary to know that it would have been me or my family/friends that would have been victims had I been 45 minutes or so slower :-(
It was my first Boston and I was super excited about it. My plan was to finish sub 3, and things were going well until about 25K (I reached half in about 1:28, and felt really great, was thinking this was going to be my easiest marathon!). But it seems the downhills in the first half have taken their toll on my quads, and I broke down on heartbreak hill, finishing in a disappointing 3:13 (my last 10K took 52 minutes, and I didn't take a break!). Anyways, I am fully recovered now and I have another marathon in six weeks (Stockholm marathon). Any advice on what kinds of workouts I should focus on? I still want to go sub 3 (my PR is 3:01 from Stockholm last year). When I finished Boston, my cardio condition was very good, it was only my legs that deserted me.
