They were probably designed by a Japanese man

No, they were a coke and a pepsi machine. We just emptied one column of soda and put beer in there. Had to try to remember to empty them before the route driver came around.

That's because you are a racist idiot.
Interesting as I saw the comment being directed towards the aided course issue (I believe the highlighted men and times were all from Boston) and not race/origin. Maybe that's not right as Hall does have fast times at London as well.
USA USA USA
Looks like 4 American men to me...
THANK YOU. Someone with the honesty to speak up against the political correctness gone mad.
We have Ryan Hall!- We don't need to keep pretending that these imports are real Americans.
So anyway, as the Americans fight amongst themselves, the real issue is the Japanese are rocking this year, especially with African drug use coming to the forefront. The Japanese are doing something right. Could it have anything to do with their college guys focusing on longer distances?
all clean too
dont think any jap ever bus ted
All-time in the human history of the planet ...
You are such an infuriatingly bad writer.
Rojo - what's your opinion on why the Japanese have been so successful in the marathon, and how has that opinion evolved/changed since you started this website?
I think its pretty basic , we do not have a understanding of coaching athletes to a elite world class standard. Take a look at top 100 times posted last year , its beyond how well the Japanese are running. Our coaches just don't have the knowledge for marathoning at world class levels.
Salazar showed what world class coaching is about , it can be done.
So for once Rojo starts a thread that's actually interesting and fact-based, and what happens? The adolescent moronity of letsrun goes into its usual tailspin. Remember Pearl Harbor. Meb and Abdi are not Ameicans. Boston is not aided. Blah blah blah.
Anyone wonder what would happen if it were posted in a Japanese running forum? Not this level of dum\bfu\ckery, I can guarantee you that.
It was worth reading this thread just to add dumbfukcery (how did you get that past the filter?) to my vocabulary. Thank you for enriching my day!
Ah, yes.
The ole sub 2:09:15 club.

African drug use? A handful of Kenyans have gotten caught. Can you explain how this relates to the other 204 current Kenyan sub 2:09 runners?
also there is no out of competition testing in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Ethiopia. East Africans can use to their hearts content and then race when they're ready. Its not coming to the fore, their governments are actively hiding their athletes' cheating. In addition the IAAF and WADA make statements about 17 athletes getting caught cheating but won't name any names. I guess they're going to wait for them to come forward themselves, which will never happen.
It is all about Track and Field in the USA, road racing (including marathons) takes a backseat for most of our top distance athletes. Japan is the other way, the 10k on the track is a sprint for them, they put more emphasis on the marathon so of course they will have far better results. We might as well compare our nordic skiers to Norway's, it's not that much different than comparing Marathon times when it is obvious that is not an emphasis here in the US just like nordic skiing is not an emphasis.
I kind of get your point but think of it this way if you were to have Rupp, Ritz, Solinsky, Derrick, etc all training for a marathon from the start of their professional careers till now you don't think we would be ahead of Japan in Marathoning? It's because our best athletes elect to stay on the track until their early to mid 30s.
American runners treat the marathon as something to do when no longer running 5 and 10ks, usally later in life if ever. Japanese runners live for the marathon. Would Japans NR in track events even make top 10 list in America?

Bingo.
I didn't see any Japanese runners near Rupp in London
Can anyone find a big 5K or 10k race where a Japanese runner even got noticed?
Unusually impressive results, especially those involving an acceleration in improvements, require scrutiny. Sadly. "Ask the Questions"
