19yo female, training for track (3000m/5000m). Recent workouts:
12 laps of continuous 200's (200m on, 200m off). Splits: 37, 39, 37, 37, 37, 36, 37, 37, 37, 37, 36, 34. Recoveries at a little over 8min pace. Felt very comfortable and controlled, especially aerobically.
2 sets of 8 x 300m w/100m jog recovery (continuous; 400m jog + water stop between sets). On the first set, kept recovery jog pretty quick (30-35sec), and splits between 59 and 63 (mostly 62's; first one was 59 just because we judged the pace wrong). Second set slowed the recovery down a little but picked the pace up on the 300s; splits of 59-61 (mostly 60's) except for last one which was 55.
3 mile tempo run in 18:12 (6:04/mile).
8 mile threshold/progression run, average pace of 6:34/mile. Splits: 6:43, 6:39, 6:47, 6:51, 6:32, 6:25, 6:27, 6:08. Idea was to keep it comfortable but decently quick on the way out then drop the pace on the way back.
50-55mpw currently. Also I'm definitely more of an endurance type than middle distance type. Any ideas as to what sort of shape am I in for 5000m? I really want to break 18 and I feel like I should be in shape to do it based off of these...
