Women like men in position of power. In all walks of life. Just the way some women are wired.
Has the OP considered that maybe he is jealous. Perhaps the OP should try a new perfume or dress a little sexier ?
I'm not jealous. My teammates and I were talking about this last night after we got home.
You sound like a hater. Is the guy even a paid assistant? Are you aware of anything negative that has resulted from the relationship, like preferential treatment etc?
What's the age difference? Is this some GA that's 22 hooking up with a 20 yr old runner? Is it some 45 year old creepin on young freshmen?

I have to second the follow-up questions from SickPuppy... What is the age gap? Is this guy an fte assistant with benefits or does he just drive the van?
Was this relationship a pre-exhisting condition upon employment?
What does OP have to gain from reporting the impropriety?
Is the coach male or female?

Are you against talking to the assistant coach before you turn him in? To do otherwise would be very immoral and weak. Is he even giving the female unfair advantages?

In my experience chicks that get in relationships with coaches do not perform well.
The female logic behind it is so that they can have a leg up on their team mates, even though track and field does not work that way. A beautiful woman still has to perform.
I don't know if this is a common saying, but in female sports you can't F**k your way into the finals.
When a beautiful woman performs, my preference is having her 2 legs up.
as long as its not high school, mind ur own damn biz
Real Economics. Please don't respond to this post again.
Complex question,
This very same thing happened at Tiffin University were the assistant coach was dating/having sex with a female athletic within the program. The head coach knew everything that was going on and did nothing. Instead he passed the buck to the head cross country coach so he could keep his job.
Advice: You should inform your head coach then report it to the AD. I bet the assistant coach signed some type of contract that says he shouldn't be dating the athletes.
Is this a record for most females replying to a thread on LRC?

Not sure you are correct, but it is a whole different deal than a HS situation. The age of the coach might come into play, but it is still possibly a legal violation, as he has a position of authority, and said relationship could be considered a discrimination case.
Is this an NCAA violation? Extra benefits? Does it put the program at risk of NCAA sanctions?
If they are both over 18, then just stay out of other people's private business.
Here in Nevada, the attitude is, "If it doesn't hurt me or concern me, then it's none of my business."
So...Is she hot?

The assistant coach doesn't even have the authority to stop the first of two team vans for food on the drive to and from the airport.
No relevance towards the topic, but how old is the assistant coach and how old is she?
He's 26, she's 20
Trying to answer my own question, it looks like the NCAA discourages but does not prohibit such relationships. Some resources:
