Oh, so running a really fast relay leg means that stepping on the line and such does not matter. In the 200 tonight one of the women semi-stumbled because she had to avoid stepping on the line. She should have just done what Francis did and step on the line.
Do not get me wrong, she is a great athlete an all, but her great mark is compromised in my mind, and probably is for anyone that looks closely at that race. Quality wise, I just mentally add about 0.4 seconds to her mark for assessing what she might do.
I do think that Oregon's 4x400 could do much better than expected. And even if they are not in the 'fast' section, it might not matter too much because sometimes not having to fight too much can be helpful. On the other hand, they have won the 4x400 in the past because they competed better than the other teams.
