He caught a bad cold and lost some training time , its that simple.

If German never does much as a pro it will show that it wasn't really Dave's fault that he didn't live up to his promise in college. If German does great as a pro it will show that Dave did not screw him up but helped him built up a long-term base in spite of injury issues.
Either way Dave wins.
I think the LRC hater logic would be if GF never does much it's because Dave Smith ruined him; if GF does great it's because Dave Smith is no longer coaching him.
There's no logic to either position but fans and haters are impervious to logic.
It's like the LRC troll logic that runners only lose because they suck (lack heart, talent, good coaching, etc.), but they only win because they dope. You can come up with some reason to slam anyone.

He seems fairly content based on his last two facebook posts this week. I doubt he's hurt. Probably just sick and it feels better to be back at a milder climate.

Exactly
he's turning tricks in vagas

I don't know. Do you think he has nice lags?
False. David wasn't able to have him run fast for the vast majority of his college career. If German runs well as a Pro, it proves German is successful with actual good coaching.
He's already run the A standard in the 1500 under Schumacher

I'm a big GF fan, but your statement sadly is not true.
The IAAF new time for the most events started October 1st, 2012. GF ran his 3:34 in Sept. 2012.
Reference here:http://www.iaaf.org/competition/standards/2013
We have 4 men qualified each event 5 and 10 k for the "a" standard as of year end 2012.
If anyone is trying to sound like an "expert" its you. You are either Dave Smith himself (which would be sad) or you are another pretender.

Dave never wins. He still has to live in Oklahoma and shop at Walmart...
Oklahoma and Walmart? Sounds like he is winning. Big house and lots of shopping for half the cost as some other places.
People blaming people for coaching and other stuff, but whatever it is too bad German has not been able to have a full year without any issues.

-apparently, you really are drunk. of course, the possibility is that you're just another idiot, uneducated ona subject, trying to defer focus on your lack of knowledge by any means necessary. very classic amongst your type. again, we're waiting on the names of all these vegetarian elites you spoke of. ...(crickets chirping) ... if you're going to make outlandish claims and talk out of your butt, then you should be called on the carpet to back it up. so, go ahead and back it up. as an aside, all these people with vitriol towards coach smith (such as YOU) have likely never met him, spoken with him, and certainly not been coached by him, and only know what they "hear" on message boards. your blame on coach smith for something that was beyond his control and anyone else's but GF, is completely off base. if you don't realize that, then i've got nothing else to offer. my point is, most everyone in my time in stillwater THRIVED under dave. he's a coach that listens. he definitely knows what he is talking about. he's in constant contact with other top notch coaches around the world(re: schumacher, etc). the fact that he has coached okst to 3 of the last 4 ncaa crowns, has 5 guys under 4 minutes, has a guy running 13.15 for 5k, and so on, should only strengthen his stance rather then denegrate it. problem is, if the athlete thinks he/she knows better or doesn't follow instruction, then there's not a thing a coach can do. end of story.
The best runners in the world are vegetarian or primarily so.
Clearly the same LRC sleuths who were following Ryan Hall around Whole Foods checking what berries he bought need to get on this.
Now you are just getting weird, man. The simple reality is that you replied to me, "Logical Man" , in your earlier post but your words were directed to someone else's post.
I called you on that and then you come back quoting my words (Logical Man again) while replying to some other poster.
Please try to get your posts in order. Or just lay off the drugs.
Or both.
Germaine Hernandez probs just caught a cold. It's poss that he is recovered, but his coach and he decided there was no need to race right now as training is more important at this juncture. Maybes he is even considering running a workout that day instead.
