Most women in their 20s and 30s are career-oriented and focused on growing their brand. That has more ROI than porn and video games. Plus a lot of them are more successful and able to pull in likes and social media cred more than guys--even though most average guys don't care about that stuff, those guys that do are worse-off compared to women in terms of being able to pull in social media followers. (If you are a guy in the media biz or entertainment usually a lot of the big social follows are females). And a lot of them say #thefutureisfemale so there's that.

If men in the 18-30 age group focus on education, $ and success, good things will come to them. Too many guys give up education-wise (I'm from CLE; I've seen it often in certain areas) and/or don't try hard enough (video games and low-wage jobs). In fairness, sometimes the savvier women have better connections to jobs and social media than guys do in certain markets (coastal, for instance).

Tucker Carlson had it right--the education system is geared toward female success more so than male success nowadays. If men need to compete and be great again in the corporate world, they need to put education and career above all other passions...but still be good to others.

The '80s and '90s were a GREAT time for corporate men--but then things changed and it threw everything out of whack.

I get your post but money is a good security blanket and women value stability in most cases. As is education. Looks are also subjective--some guys look better at 35 than they did at 22. If the wife makes more than the husband it's not a big deal (IMO) as long as the differential is not too much. If the wife makes 80 and the husband makes 70 that's not a big deal but if the wife is a high-powered CEO making 200 and the husband has a good job at 120 it would be a bit awkward IMO. I think it also then gets into the issue of social circles and whatnot--if the wife is super-famous and the husband is a nobody, for instance.

But general if both genders are equal income-wise (for the most part) it's less awkward. Stay at home dads--I empathize with them, unless there's a good support network of other stay-at-home dads, etc. Otherwise you're the only SAHD and everyone else are SAHMs and cliques form as a result.

Where do you get the idea that men aren't trying self-improvement in an attempt to attract women? The whole manosphere (Jordan Peterson, Valuetainment, Mr. Money Mustache, etc.) is all about self-improvement.

No it isn't. Another poster mentioned finding Return of Kings after searching for how to better interact with women. That's exactly how it happens, you start of with good intentions and then get suckered in. They know young men search for this stuff so they set themselves up as help guides or self-improvement to attract them and then gradually introduce them to more extreme politics.

The manosphere is set up as a gateway to far-right/alt-right politics. Very few men are searching online about race or LGBTQ or religion but lots of men are looking for help with women. Promoting socially regressive stances on feminism and encouraging misogyny is the first prejudice they instil so they can move onto encouraging homophobia and racism. It's the hook.

It's purpose was to introduce reactionary conservatives into the mainstream and they did this by radicalizing ordinary young men by preying on their insecurities about sexual relationships.
