RE: Are men nowadays giving up on women?

It's particularly ignorant and condescending when women tell men to "man up". As if they knew what being a man is like, but they think they do.

It is a violation of human rights when babies are denied food, or drowned, or suffocated, or their spines broken, simply because they are born girls.

It is a violation of human rights when women and girls are sold into the slavery of prostitution.

It is a violation of human rights when women are doused with gasoline, set on fire and burned to death because their marriage dowries are deemed too small.

It is a violation of human rights when individual women are raped in their own communities and when thousands of women are subjected to rape as a tactic or prize of war.

It is a violation of human rights when a leading cause of death worldwide among women ages 14 to 44 is the violence they are subjected to in their own homes.

It is a violation of human rights when young girls are brutalized by the painful and degrading practice of genital mutilation.

It is a violation of human rights when women are denied the right to plan their own families, and that includes being forced to have abortions or being sterilized against their will.

If there is one message that echoes forth from this conference, it is that human rights are women's rights... And women's rights are human rights.

Let us not forget that among those rights are the right to speak freely. And the right to be heard.

Women must enjoy the right to participate fully in the social and political lives of their countries if we want freedom and democracy to thrive and endure.

It is indefensible that many women in non-governmental organizations who wished to participate in this conference have not been able to attend — or have been prohibited from fully taking part.

Let me be clear. Freedom means the right of people to assemble, organize, and debate openly. It means respecting the views of those who may disagree with the views of their governments. It means not taking citizens away from their loved ones and jailing them, mistreating them, or denying them their freedom or dignity because of the peaceful expression of their ideas and opinions.

Men are obsolete. It won't be long until we're all herded into FEMA deathcamps for crimes against womyn.

Pretty accurate description. It's called female hypergamy.

They're pretty much doing you a favor. Guys peak in their 30s. Girls peak in their 20s. Since so many girls are aiming way too high, more guys will be more likely to make it to their 30s unmarried when they can be in their peak and have a lot more options to date hotter younger girls. When you're 30 and single you'll be glad the same-aged girl broke your heart 10 years ago.

Every mother should endeavor to be a true artist. I hold that no woman loves social purity as it deserves to be loved and valued, if she cares for the purity of her daughters and not her sons; who would gather her dainty robes from contact with the fallen woman and yet greet with smiling lips and clasp with warm and welcoming hands the author of her wrong and ruin. How many mothers to-day shrink from a double standard for society which can ostracise the woman and condone the offense of the man? How many mothers say within their hearts, "I intend to teach my boy to be as pure in his life, as chaste in his conversation, as the young girl who sits at my side encircled in the warm clasp of loving arms?" How many mothers strive to have their boys shun the gilded saloon as they would the den of a deadly serpent? Not the mother who thoughtlessly sends her child to the saloon for a beverage to make merry with her friends. How many mothers teach their boys to shrink in horror from the fascinations of women, not as God made them, but as sin has degraded them?

To-night, if you and I could walk through the wards of various hospitals at home and abroad, perhaps we would find hundreds, it may be thousands, of young men awaiting death as physical wrecks, having burned the candle of their lives at both ends. Were we to bend over their dying couches with pitying glances, and question them of their lives, perhaps numbers of them could tell you sad stories of careless words from thoughtless lips, that tainted their imaginations and sent their virus through their lives; of young eyes, above which God has made the heavens so eloquent with His praise, and the earth around so poetic with His ideas, turning from the splendor of the magnificent sunsets or glorious early dawns, and finding allurement in the dreadful fascinations of sin, or learning to gloat over impure pictures and vile literature. Then, later on, perhaps many of them could say, "The first time I went to a house where there were revelry and song, and the dead were there and I knew it not, I went with men who were older than myself; men, who should have showed me how to avoid the pitfalls which lie in the path of the young, the tempted, and inexperienced, taught me to gather the flowers of sin that blossom around the borders of hell."

I have definitely given up for now. I cannot meet a decent woman to save my life. They are a rare creature... so enjoy the ride until you come across one! Judge by character and ACTION. If they have done stupid things in the past, they will do stupid things again. I will never take another fixer-upper. Looking for a good woman from a good family who treats others well. Find one without drug addiction history, debt, and history of dropping out of school and I'll be a happy guy.

Good point. But that means in every batch of 20 something women, many are going to hit 40 and unmarried. Will they become cougars?

There's the trouble.... for men, not women. Women enjoy other women as companions. Women can live enriched, fulfilled lives with their female friends as companions and obtain sexual gratification from men (if so desired) via one night stands. If they wish to have children, it's just a simple insemination away.

The fix? Men need to be socialized to see the worth and thus be motivated by more redeeming, honorable intentions- JUST AS WOMEN HAVE. Men need to woman-up, not man-up.

I guess that's what a freaking TWO-WAY relationship is all about! It's about compromise and healthy disagreement.

Men expect woman to be the doormats in the relationship and then call them "pains in the arses" when they don't allow themselves to be walked all over.

I haven't quite given up, but I have put women on hold. Either 1) the women I'm interested in are not interested in dating because they are too focused on school or their career, or 2) they are incredibly picky and have unrealistic expectations in a mate. I'm still pursuing women, just not as aggressively as before. Since they seem to want to be the man in the relationship these days, i'm letting them pursue me.

Ummm...No, it doesn't. 20 something women marry 30 something men. There are about equal numbers. No leftovers.

If you're a guy and you're not good-looking and you go after women, you're creepy. It's kind of interesting going from a guy who didn't used to get female attention until his mid-twenties, to suddenly realizing that women find you attractive.

Yes you're correct. I believe there's stats showing more unmarried women in their 30s and 40s now compared to 10, 20, 30, and 40 years ago. If by cougar you mean women in their 40s who are still decent looking, I guess it's in their best interest to do whatever they can to stay attractive (a cougar).
